I was Unwanted

I was alone and frightened,
and did not know what to do.

I thought everything was lost,
then I looked up and saw you.

You picked me up and took me,
to a place so safe and warm.

To love me and care for me,
to protect me from all harm.

Through no fault of their own,
animals like these are abandoned every day.
