A Little Girl Named Carolyn
As Told By Carolyn Pyzynski's Mom
As well as I recall she told it something like this:
Once upon a time there was a little girl, named, Carolyn. She was an only
child. They lived in a two story house on Central Av. She had some neighbors
who each had a son. One was Donny and the other one, William. They liked to
make mud pies and play store using plant parts and weeds that looked like
food. They also used acorns she had found when they went to the woods.
In
the course of their playing they dropped two of the little acorns on the
sidewalk. As kids rode by on their tricycles one little acorn got pushed off
just beside their front walk to the house and the other went on the other
side.
Carolyn grew up and one day got married. She moved away from home. She
was unable to return home until her youngest child was one year old. She
had five children, three girls and two boys.
Then one Sunday, she and her
family returned home for a visit with her mom and dad.
Carolyn and her family were so surprised ~ because there in her parent's yard
were two of the prettiest oak trees. One on each side of the front walkway.
In time they would grow to be really big. It was quite a thrill to see them.
They had grown from the acorns she had played with when she was a little girl.
After her parents died, one of her children purchased that home and for a long
time they enjoyed the oak trees, the squirrels that lived in them and the
birds.
Nature is a wonderful thing. Just looking at them brought back so many
wonderful memories. They all lived happily ever after.
